I have been wanting to make my own dog food for some time, but didn’t know where to start. These recipes have given me the confidence to do it, and our dog loves it!
Our poor 1.5yr old cockapoo, Rolo, had been suffering with allergies for the majority of his life. He would itch his paws so much they would bleed and ulcerate, and scratch his ears so much he would scream and they’d bleed too. He’d get himself in such a state it was absolutely heartbreaking to watch.
Much like others, we got sucked into the naive hole of hypoallergenic diets and really strong meds which felt totally unnatural, because it is.
After stumbling across Cam’s instagram page it was like a lightbulb moment. I felt mortified at what we’d been feeding our boy. I purchased the hypoallergenic PDF and it was the best money I’ve ever spent. The adjustment period from kibble to raw diet was tricky but Cam provided really clear step by step guidelines for this.
We’re a few months in now and Rolo is off all major medication and only had the odd antihistamine now and again. He sleeps better, is clearly more satiated after his food and had a far better quality of life without the never ending itching. It’s like a different dog.
